This morning we held our Summer work day in Dog Kennel Hill Wood and Open Space. A group of dedicated volunteers gathered to litter pick, tidy up the laid hedge near Sainsburys, trim the overhanging branches near the paths and start the long process of removing some of the ivy from the trees. This ivy was a concern during our Woodland Assessment with TCV and it was suggested that we start to cut some of the lower stalks heading up the trees to kill it in the trees, as well as pull it up from the woodland floor. This is a big job and we are wondering if we can get some help through a corporate away day or similar. We shall see!
Big thanks as always to the brilliant volunteers who help keep Dog kennel Hill Wood looking wild.
Thanks to everyone who came and volunteered their time.
