The alexanders

  • News

Gah, the alexanders! They’ve become a real nuisance in the glade by the wood and are so invasive they are spreading like wildfire. We are not alone in our dislike of them and have started the laborious and probably utterly futile business of trying to remove the seed heads before they spread. Obviously there will be tons of seeds already in the ground which will come up forever more..BUT we can only try!

If you fancy a free supper, help yourself. They are entirely edible: roots, leaves, seeds and flowerheads. How about frying the flowerheads in tempura batter? Or making alexander soup?

Here are some recipes to get you going.

Oh and please DON’T spread the seeds around.
