A small group of volunteers tackled the hedge that runs down the side of the wood, bordering the housing estate today. Many of the whips had become incredibly tall and were in desperate need of a prune in order to make them grow more bushy. The nettles, brambles and other weeds that strangle the hedge were also cut back in an attempt to let the hedge whips get a head start.
