Hedgehog on the Greendale

These lovely photos were taken by Jonathan Coe as he walked through the Greendale fields. The hedgehog was curled up in a ball by the side of a path and had tried to hide by covering itself in dried grass.

Although this isn’t a sighting in DKH Wood and Open Space, it is important because the Greendale fields act as a green corridor for wildlife. Much of the wildlife we see in the wood is there because of the existence of the Greendale.

Let’s hope the hedgehog finds a less conspicuous place to hibernate in November (and maybe a litter-free spot too?).
