Last night’s storm hit the South East hard with winds of about 80mph recorded. Miraculously DKH Wood suffered very little damage. Sadly, three of the fruit trees that line the path to Sainsburys from the estate have been so vandalised that they need replacing. People seem to love grabbing the branches and snapping them. Today saw the first stage of the introduction of new bins to the park. The old ones are being removed and new dual purpose (rubbish and dog poo) ones are being put in. Yesterday Quadron mowed the wildflower meadow. They did leave the cuttings which is good (so the seeds can fall and create a meadow the following year) but unfortunately they also mowed large swathes of the hedge that LWT had planted last year.
