Volunteer Day 1

Posted on 22nd March, 2012 in Events | News

Today saw the first council-organised volunteer day in the park. The day started at 9.30am and went on until 3.30pm. A team of people, including some corporate volunteers, helped to clear a third of the brambles out from the “natural” area of the park near the adventure playground. This is to encourage other native species to thrive. They then used some of the vegetation that had been cleared to make a “dry hedge” along the edge of the park.
